ES/ PEQUEÑA ESTATUA DEL TERROR:
Vivo en una ciudad masculina, que me penetra todos los días con sus formas y su tosquedad.
Pequeña Estatua del Terror es un proyecto que reflexiona sobre la figura fálica del bolardo a través de un ejercicio de escritura y una acción en el espacio público. La intervención consistió en vestir con medias veladas algunos bolardos ubicados en la carrera 24 con calle 70, en Bogotá. Sobre estos cuerpos duros, hechos para controlar el espacio público y ordenar el tránsito, apareció un gesto frágil, íntimo, asociado a lo femenino. El contraste entre la aspereza del material y la fragilidad del textil desplazó el sentido de estos objetos urbanos hacia un territorio ambiguo, entre lo doméstico y lo erótico
La acción derivó en un texto que explora las formas de habitar la ciudad entre el humor y el miedo, atendiendo a la fricción constante entre cuidado y amenaza, protección y vulnerabilidad. Este texto forma parte del libro FRICCIONES, una publicación que reúne seis escritos que se aproximan a ciudades y territorios desde sus desplazamientos, con atención y delicadeza, pero sin rehuir la
aspereza.

I live in a masculine city, which penetrates me every day with its forms and its coarseness.
Little Statue of Terror is a project that reflects on the phallic figure of the bollard through a writing exercise and an action in public space. The intervention consisted of dressing some bollards located on Carrera 24 with Calle 70, in Bogota, with stockings. On these hard bodies, made to control public space and order traffic, a fragile, intimate gesture appeared, associated with the feminine. The contrast between the roughness of the material and the fragility of the textile shifted the meaning of these urban objects into an ambiguous territory, between the domestic and the erotic.
The action resulted in a text that explores the ways of inhabiting the city between humor and fear, attending to the constant friction between care and threat, protection, and vulnerability. This text is part of the book FRICTIONS (FRICCIONES), a publication that brings together six writings that approach cities and territories trough their movements, with attention and delicacy, but without shying away from the
roughness.
