ES/ APARIENCIA VESTIDA
La palabra «apariencia» quiere decir «lo que se muestra». Y el vestido, en principio, indica un ocultamiento. La palabra traje (vestido, manera de vestir), en cambio, viene del verbo trahere, que en latín significa «arrastrar»: la idea de traje es traer un vestido y atraer la atención. Así, pues, aunque la acción de vestir es, en apariencia, la de ocultar, esta no se refiere simplemente a un ocultamiento: vestir es también algo intermitente que genera tensión; es señalar, velar, mostrar, cubrir, disimular, exaltar o exagerar. Además, el vestido que recubre mi cuerpo no opera de manera aislada, es decir, por fuera de un contexto, sino que está en contacto, al mismo tiempo, con lo íntimo —que soy yo—, y con lo exterior, —que es el mundo—.
Apariencia vestida es un proyecto de señalamientos a través del cuerpo, el vestido y del adorno. Me vestí y me desvestí, para mí misma y para el otro. Fui vestida por otros, para ser vista por los otros. Fui vestida amorosa pero ridículamente. Oculté mi cuerpo. Lo intenté exponer. Sufrí por envidia, por la sensualidad, el cuerpo y la seguridad que no podía tener. Quise emocionarme y emocionar. Busqué lo que me hacía falta en los gestos de los demás. Deseé robarme la emoción de ellos. Fui trágicamente vestida, y mi revancha fue vestir al otro con una insinuación de mi propia forma.

The word "appearance" means "that which is shown." And the dress, in principle, indicates a concealment. The word traje (dress, way of dressing), on the other hand, comes from the verb trahere, which in Latin means "to drag": the idea of a suit is to bring a dress and attract attention. Thus, although the action of dressing is, on the surface, that of concealment, it does not simply refer to concealment: dressing is also something intermittent that generates tension; it is to point out, to veil, to show, to cover, to dissimulate, to exalt or to exaggerate. Moreover, the dress that covers my body does not operate in isolation, that is, outside of a context, but is in contact, at the same time, with the intimate -which is me- and with the exterior, which is the world.
Dressed Appearance is a project of signalling through the body, the dress, and the adornment. I dressed and undressed, for myself and for the other. I was clothed by others, to be seen by others. I was dressed lovingly but ridiculously. I hid my body. I tried to expose it. I suffered from envy, from the sensuality, the body, and the security that I could not have. I wanted to get excited and excited. I looked for what I needed in the gestures of others. I wanted to steal the emotion from them. I was tragically dressed, and my revenge was to dress the other with a hint of my own form.
